Microsoft has rebranded some of its Office 365 commercial plans for SMB’s and this took effect from 21st of April. The rebranding to new names is meant to signify that “Office” is more than just Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. The new name change is aimed to help simplify things, addressing name inconsistencies in the Office 365 / Microsoft 365 Business plans.
Plans names rebranded by Microsoft are:
Office 365 Business Essentials rebranded to Microsoft 365 Business Basic. This is the entry-level offering for customers looking for basic cloud services.
Office 365 Business Premium rebranded to Microsoft 365 Business Standard. This is the core offering for SMBs, including cloud services and cloud-connected desktop apps.
Microsoft 365 Business rebranded to Microsoft 365 Business Premium. This remains the Hero for high-end SMBs looking for additional security, device and identity value.
Microsoft has also adopted Microsoft 365 Apps as the new name rebrand for the two Office client subscriptions:
Office 365 Business rebranded to Microsoft 365 Apps for business.
Office 365 ProPlus rebranded to Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise.
Impact Business Operations
